RADIOGRAPHY TESTING (RT)

Radiography Testing is a Nondestructive Testing method that is used in various Industries to identify weld defects in joints, castings, weld structures, etc. This is used to identify volumetric defects or discontinuities in most of the welds prior to assembly or sometimes after assembly also. Radiography Testing is done to identify defects or discontinuities captured on radiographic films based on the absorption of radiation due to density difference in material or part.

Advantages of Radiography Testing

- This method and Technique is not limited by material type or density.

- RT can easily inspect the assembled components.

- The requirement of surface preparation is very low.

- Very sensitive to change in thickness, corrosion, voids, cracks, and material density change.
